THE SNOW BRIDGE
This is the classic snow bridge
photograph, taken in August of
2005. You can see a climber
making his way across.
By mid-August, 2006, the snow bridge was
completely melted, as observed by my friend Ken
from Connecticutt.
But early in the season, there's a lot more snow. Vince Poore of Bozeman took these three
fine photographs of the snow bridge Tuesday, July 3, 2007. From left to right they are looking
across the snow bridge toward Granite Peak (obscured by fog), looking straight down the
south side of the snow bridge half way across and looking east across the snow bridge toward
Tempest from the top of the first chimney on Granite Peak.
