GPS COORDINATES FROM MYSTIC LAKE
TRAILHEAD TO FROZE TO DEATH PLATEAU
Here are the GPS coordinates from a Garmin hand-held GPS from my 7/8/07 dayhike up the FTD Plateau. The
Plateau is huge and at many points there are few distinguishing characteristics. It took me about 12 1/2 hours
parking lot -- to parking lot with just a day pack. You may be much quicker or much slower depending on:

    Your Age
    Your physical condition
    Pack weight
Elevation gain from your home town (New Jersey and San Francisco athletes are at a disadvantage)
Ambient air temperature (I'm slower when it's really hot)

While I offer these GPS coordinates in an effort to be helpful, it is possible that they contain serious mistakes. So
rely upon them at your own risk. I strongly suggest you take your own GPS, marking waypoints on the way in over
the FTD. Two friends with far more climbing experience than I have gotten lost on the Plateau when enveloped in
fog. The Plateau is ringed with cliffs and steep snow fields.
